We get this question all the time, and the answer depends on what instrument you are learning to play. So here is a breakdown on what you will need to bring to lessons each week depending on what you are learning!

Guitar/Banjo/Mandolin/Ukulele/Band/Orchestra Lessons:

  • You will need to bring your instrument. You have to have your instrument with you in order to play it in lessons. We get a lot of questions asking if we supply instruments for students during their lesson, and our answer to this question is no. The reasoning behind this is that we believe that it is best for students to learn on the same instrument they practice on. And each student may be comfortable playing a slightly different brand/size/etc instrument than the next student. We do however offer rentals on band/orchestra instruments and have many student level guitars, banjos, and mandolins for sale at an affordable price.

Drum Lessons:

  • You will need to bring a pair of drum sticks to you lessons. Since drums are so large and difficult to transport, each of our drum studios are equipped with 2 sets of electronic drums; one for the teacher to demonstrate on and one for the student to use. Students will need to either have a full drum kit or a practice pad at home to use during their practice time.

Piano/Vocal Lessons:

  • Students will need to bring themselves and a happy, positive attitude with them and be ready to learn.

All Lessons:

  • All students, regardless of what instrument they are learning, will need to bring whatever learning materials (method book, sheet music, theory book, etc) they are learning from during their lessons.
