Designing guitars with Breedlove's Custom Shop is one of our favorite things to do, the process is always so fun and the finished product always exceeds our expectations!
In August of 2023 some of our design team headed to Bend, Oregon to visit the Breedlove factory and design a few custom pieces. One of the sets we landed on was this stunning set of Sinker Redwood and Figured Walnut. This tonewood pairing is one of our very favorites to work with as it creates such a dynamic and responsive tone that is just perfect for fingerstyle playing. We opted for an understated, natural look with this instrument to really give the incredible woods an opportunity to shine. We chose a natural gloss finish, because why mess with perfection on these already stunning pieces of wood? We chose Flamed Maple binding for a nice contrast of natural materials, a Koa rosette, and the Links inlay in gold mother of pearl with a black mother of pearl ring on the 12th fret.
We think this guitar turned out absolutely stunning, and it sounds as amazing as it looks! You cannot go wrong with a Custom Shop Breedlove guitar!
