On the bench we have a very cool limited edition ESP LTD Reign Of Blood Slayer electric guitar. The customer brought it in to have it setup down to C# tuning.
This guitar features some really great inlay and logos!
First step is to remove the stock strings.
We will be using Ernie Ball Not Even Slinky Strings.
This will require me to work on the saddles and widen the notch to accept the larger string diameter.
Here I'm using a file to open the notch.
Then I come back and sand/polish the notches of each saddle.
Next is to string it up!
Once it's been strung, I will then file each nut slot to accept the larger string gauge.
Just a little more tweaking.
Next step was to set the bridge height for a nice, comfortable action. Along with this step, I set the truss rod, set the pickup height, and finalize the intonation.
The customer also wanted to swap out the stock strap buttons with some Dunlop strap locks.
Strap locks are a great upgrade for any guitar.
Here I had to drill out the stock holes to accept the new strap lock screws.
Last step was to give it a good cleaning and polishing!
All done! On to the next one!!
