Breedlove Guitars was founded in 1990 by Larry Breedlove and Steve Henderson. After many years of meticulous craftsmanship and debuting their innovative Concert body shape, the company was acquired by Tom Bedell. Under Tom's passionate leadership Breedlove ushered in a new era, carrying forward the existing legacy of innovation while infusing the company with a strong commitment to sustainability.
Breedlove is known for their top tier tonewood selections, offering a wide variety of exotic and rare woods to create incredible tonal palates in their instrument offerings. They have amplified their dedication to making guitars that sound the best they can by offering four revolutionary body shapes - the original Concert body as well as the more recently introduced Concerto, Concertina, and Companion bodies. They have also taken a modern, technological approach to building by developing their Sound Optimization process used on all their Made in Bend instruments, measuring the different frequencies coming off individual raw wood tops, backs, and sides, to pair them all together perfectly for the optimal tone.
Breedlove's dedication to innovation starts in their Custom Shop, where they take everything they learn and use it to inform the build of all of their guitars - from the most top of the line instrument to their affordable, Designed in Bend models that are made overseas. Tom Bedell's dedication to sustainability shows in the fact that Breedlove uses no clear-cut trees in any of their construction on any of their series of guitars.
